Henry Adams is listed on the 1900 census for Luther Township and the 1907 ownership map. This family was Black, and came to this area from Louisiana as did the Black families who had adjoining farms (Greenhoward, Thomas, and Magloire). We are still trying to determine the relationship, if any, to them.

Timeline & Unsolved Mysteries The birth dates on the census suggest that this family came to the Luther area between April of 1893 and June of 1895. If Henry made the Run of '95, he was not successful as his farm was leased, set-aside School Land. What was Martha's maiden name? What brought them to the area? Were either related to any of the early settlers of the nearby Unassigned Lands or Iowa Lands?
