This family was White. Their homestead was in the NW4 of 9-14-1E (Luther Township), and they are shown living there on the 1900 census. By 1907, they had sold the northern 80 acres of the homestead but still owned the southern half. Thaddeus' wife, Nancy Jane STEPHENS, had relatives in the area.

Timeline & Unsolved Mysteries
Thaddeus filed his claim on March 1, 1892 -- yet Delno is listed as having been born in Oklahoma in May of 1891. Does this mean they were living with relatives or renting a farm in in the Unassigned Lands before homesteading in the Iowa Lands?
Daphine is buried in what is now the Luther Cemetery, but was called Valley View at the time of her death.
When did the family move away and where did they go?
