Luther Township, Oklahoma County, O.T. Contact: Sharon McAllister
This family was Black. They came to this area from the same part of Louisiana as several other early Black families but so far we have not been able to determine the relationship, if any.

Timeline & Unsolved Mysteries: Isador was in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana in 1888 where he was witness at the wedding of Adelaide Louis and Isaac Thomas. "I. REASON" is shown as the owner of NW4 of 16-14-1E on the 1907 map. The 1900 census shows this family living in Luther Township, renting their farm. This particular section was set-aside school land, which wasn't made available for purchase until after 1900, so they could have arrived anytime after the Run of '91. From analyzing the path of the census-taker, I do believe that this farm is where they were living. According to the 1900 census, Patsey's father was born in Virginia and her mother in Louisiana, but her maiden name remains unknown. She died 1910 and was buried in the Reunion Cemetery, which is approximately 3 miles NW of their farm. Patsey had had 7 children, 6 of whom were still living in 1900 but only four of them can be accounted for. What were the names of the others? Were any living in the area? Mary REASON [born 5-30-1875 and died 2-12-1925] is buried in St. Luke's, which is about 4 miles ESE of the REASON farm. This cemetery is associated with the church that was established by families who came from Avoyelles Parish.
