About Wellston Township

Located in the western portion of Lincoln County, bordering Oklahoma County's Luther Township, Wellston Township's largest community is the town of Wellston itself. If you are researching the old families of Captain Creek, you may well find information in old copies of the Luther Register as its founding families often had ties to families Oklahoma County.

Because the western border of Wellston Township is only 3 miles from the town of Luther, and the two towns are connected by Route 66, there are many connections among the Founding Families of the two towns.
